Sibongile Manganyi-Rath is a South African entrepreneur who started working for her father from the age of Twelve (12) assisting in the running of a family fresh produce business in Soweto, Johannesburg. Working for a family business at such a tender age might have prepared her to become a successful business woman she is today. During her upbringing, her Father taught her discipline, commitment, accountability, perseverance and Integrity.
At the age of 26 Sibongile quit her job and established Indigo Kulani Group, a Company which renders Architectural services amongst other things. To date, IKG has organically grown into an integrated multi-disciplinary infrastructure and property development holding company offering designs and planning within a Construction Industry. As a holding group IKG, oversees management of ten (10) of its subsidiaries which provide services and investments interest in Energy, Water, Health, Education and Housing Developments.
The Company has managed the construction of over 300 schools, Airports, Large Capital Hospital across Africa. The entrance of IKG into the traditionally male dominated construction industry, did not only encourage participation of women in the construction industry but broke the monopoly that male owned companies used to enjoy.
Raised by two illiterate parents and knowing the power of Education, Sibongile established Indigo Kulani Educational Foundation, the object of which is to provide leadership, Entrepreneurial and Literacy skills to Children from underprivileged communities. The impact of the Foundation reaches out to more than Five Thousand children each year.
Driven by the ambition and passion for growing more entrepreneurs and contributing to building a sustainable economy in Africa, Sibongile started IKG Start-Up Capital, a private Equity investment company with the aim to invest in diverse opportunities such as automation and instrumentation, consumer products, energy, financing, food and beverage, healthcare/life sciences, internet related services, social ventures, software, telecommunications, and any other segment with high growth opportunity.
With a vision that is dedicated to creating world class entrepreneurs, IKG Start- up capital is desirous in partnering with entrepreneurs throughout the African continent. In doing so, only Entrepreneurs that are self-driven, goal orientated, of integrity and are capable of creating enterprises with the potential to change the global socio-economic landscape, will be considered.
